The petrochemical complex is the key industrial sector of the Republic of Tatarstan, which forms 47.1% of the Republic’s shipped goods.

The petrochemical complex includes the following industries:

In the oil and gas chemical complex of the Republic of Tatarstan, the share of sectors such as oil refining and the production of rubber and plastics is increasing. In Tatarstan, the volume of oil refining in 2024 grew by 300,000 tons compared to the previous year, reaching 24.3 million tons. The Republic produces a quarter of the polyethylene, over 40% of synthetic rubbers, more than half of freight truck tires, and 100% of the Russian polycarbonate.

The coordinating and expert center responsible for shaping the development strategy of Tatarstan’s petrochemical complex is Tatneftemhinvest-Holding JSC. Its main functions include forming investment, innovation, environmental, and social policies for the complex, as well as representing the complex at both Russian and international levels.
